Time to reboot the old brain. Starting Grad school–technically again–hasn’t been as rough as I would have thought. Minus signing body and soul away in case I default on my loans is most likely the harshest thing I’ve had to overcome so far. I still have plenty of free time on my hands which is actually turning out to be a good thing. Plenty of time to do work and devour associated media alongside my studies. Is it sad that I still utilize the scientific method in my own thoughts and actions? Anyway…check out my new Tumblr blog to follow along with my class work. In the meantime, given my new direction, I plan on streamlining my social media output as well as increase my input. So here come da Twitter and FB reboot as well. Moving on.
My return from the Caribbean. I had a great sweaty, humid good time down on the islands. It made me wish I could speak Dutch but that was just the 25% of me hearing it for the first time. My previous posts we short and more than likely slightly incoherent. I was on a tropical island blogging early in the morning. You do the math. Regardless, I really did have a good time. I also made some interesting business connections while I was running around. Suffice it to say nothing is set in stone but it was good to meet people who could see opportunity like it was a sixth sense.
One of the best things about tropical islands is the water.
On every beach you could see right to the sand below. But the weirdest thing about the water was how warm it was. Like bath water…all the time.
On Bonaire their biggest export seems to be some sort of white powdery substance…either way you take it, in large amounts its bad for your health.
This is a picture of the Hotel Resort we stayed at, The Divi. Can’t beat waking up and walking out to stare at the ocean half naked and groggy. Of course, you’d be the polite one staying at this hotel.
Last but not least is an image I would like to share with you from Curacao. This image should strike both fear and awe into your heart. Behold. The Venezuelan Navy!
Cower before the might of their textile wares and fresh fruit! Actually this was kind of a cool site. Because Curacao is a free port, these tiny boats putter all the way from Venezuela (maybe 80-ish miles away?) to come sell their goods a la market style. If someone did this on the Hudson, you might be a bit creeped out though…
So, will I go back? Most definitely. Would I live there for an extended period of time? Don’t think so. Nothing against the beautiful islands or their friendly inhabitants, but I prefer to stay on one solid tectonic plate. Especially now at this weird economic downturn, something about island living seems even more so foreign. People are happy and content, even with nothing and the sun is always shinning. To me it was a reality that was wonderfully jarring. Regardless, America still has that good ‘ol fashion feel to it. No matter where you are within her borders.
All in all, the trip was refreshing and for what its worth, educational. Just the right amount of nothing and everything to get me ready for some new changes.
1000111000101011001 …OK where’s Bender when you need him…
Till next time.

I look forward to your increased input and social media presence. Also…excellent Futurama reference! Kudo!
BTW: If you go back to the islands…take me!!
It is never a bad thing to use the scientific method in your thinking. Well I’m sure I can imagine one situation where it’s useless…
Tweet me as soon as you get on that again!
